Dr. Chanbo Sim

Dr. Chanbo Sim, along with his dedicated team, is excited to bring his extensive dental expertise to the community here in Chicago. Bucktown Wicker Park Dental is a state-of-the-art dental facility built on Dr. Sim’s comprehensive dental knowledge. For over 30 years, Dr. Sim has provided comprehensive dental care to his patients and is eager to grow his dental family to better serve the community.

Dr. Sim earned his degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis and is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Association, the American Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry

Dr. Melissa Daza

Dr. Melissa Daza, DDS, is a highly skilled and compassionate dentist at Bucktown Wicker Park Dental in Chicago. As a Chicago native, she is passionate about creating beautiful smiles and caring for patients of all ages.

Dr. Daza earned her dental degree from Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago and completed a general practice residency at the University of California, San Francisco. She has pursued numerous postgraduate courses at the Pride Institute in Novato, California, and has studied under renowned clinicians such as Frank Spear, DDS, MSD, and Peter Dawson, DDS. Dr. Daza is an Invisalign®-certified dentist and a CEREC®-trained clinician who continually updates her skills through continuing education courses.

Dr. Daza is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Association, the American Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

In her practice, Dr. Daza is passionate about building relationships and connections with her patients. She values being part of her patients’ lives and expanding her worldview through their stories and experiences.

Outside of her dental practice, Dr. Daza is very active in the community. She has served on the board of the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce and has been a clinical faculty member in the oral medicine department at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in Chicago. She mentors young girls through the Chinese Mutual Aid Association.

In her spare time, Dr. Daza enjoys sharing life with her husband, Dennis, and daughter, Nina. She enjoys running marathons, playing tennis, snow skiing, traveling, reading, and practicing yoga. Dr. Daza is also passionate about environmental and climate change issues and supports the National Wildlife Federation.

Dr. Michelle Schwartz

Dr. Michelle Schwartz, DDS, is a talented and caring dentist at Bucktown Wicker Park Dental in Chicago. A Chicago native currently living in River North, she takes pride in making lasting changes in her patients’ smiles and lives.

Dr. Schwartz graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans before earning her dental degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago’s College of Dentistry. Following dental school, she worked at the UIC College of Dentistry in the oral medicine and diagnosis clinic and the Ryan White HIV clinic.

Dr. Schwartz stays up to date on advances in dental techniques and technologies through continuing education courses and has completed numerous postgraduate courses in restorative dentistry. She is certified in Invisalign® and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society.

In her practice, Dr. Schwartz takes a holistic approach, caring for the whole person in addition to their smile. She believes that our health affects our bodies and vice versa and aims to optimize her patients’ well-being in all regards. She enjoys hearing her patients’ unique stories and experiences and developing bonds that go beyond the patient-provider relationship. She finds the most inspiration in seeing patients post-treatment who have learned to take pride in their dental health.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Schwartz is involved in outreach programs that involve therapy dogs. She frequently takes her own certified therapy dog, Shazam, on visits to the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

In her spare time, Dr. Schwartz enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling, and reading biographies. She also likes to stay healthy by competing in half-marathons and practicing yoga and pilates.
