Why Invisalign® Has Such a High Satisfaction Rate

Do you hide your teeth behind closed lips for family photos? Do you avoid showing your teeth to others for fear of ridicule? You can stop hiding your beautiful smile for good with Invisalign®. Here at Bucktown Dental, we know how important it is for you to feel confident when you show your smile to the world.

Perfect teeth do not come naturally

Being blessed with so-called perfect teeth without any effort is a rarity. Contrary to popular belief, most people need to work to maintain their smiles. But dental or orthodontic work isn’t always about what you see in the mirror. Crooked or misaligned teeth can cause a plethora of issues, including:

  • Speech problems
  • Jaw or neck pain
  • Headaches
  • Infections
  • Cavities

If you are suffering from speech problems, pain, or other health problems because of your crooked teeth, it is imperative that you work with your dentist or orthodontist on developing a treatment plan as soon as possible. Delays in orthodontic treatment can lead to additional or worsened problems later in life.

Why Invisalign is so popular

The Invisalign system consists of clear plastic aligners that work much as braces do for minor orthodontic correction. Because they are nearly invisible, the aligners come without the stigma and self-consciousness of standard braces.

Although traditional braces work well for many orthodontic needs, they do require significant upkeep. Elastic bands on braces need continual changing, teeth need frequent cleaning, and the metal may leave cuts or abrasions.

With Invisalign, the plastic aligners require little upkeep and are removable before eating, drinking, and brushing. The aligners also offer a smooth surface that prevents any oral injury from occurring while you speak, sleep, or chew.

How Invisalign works

Getting started with Invisalign is easy. During your Invisalign consultation, we take a 3D scan of your teeth. From this scan, your plastic Invisalign aligners are made.

After your fitting, you can begin wearing your aligners immediately. Every week or two, depending on your treatment plan, you switch to the next set of aligners, which continue to gently move your teeth into position. You return to our office periodically for checkups so we can ensure your treatment is proceeding as planned.

Misaligned teeth can cause speech problems, jaw or neck pain, headaches, and low self-esteem. If you are tired of hiding your smile or are looking for an alternative to braces, consider giving Invisalign a try. Stop hiding your smile and let us help get your confidence back.
